C. T. S has been operating since 1960 and can put it`s success down to an abundance of experience amongst our team of highly skilled engineers in the application of the Repair & Remanufacture of Car, light and Heavy Commercial Gearbox, Differentials, Steering Boxes & Repair and Manufacture of Propshafts.

During its four decades in business, the company has seen numerous changes in the various types of transmissions and indeed their complexity. However together with adopting innovative working practices, having extensive experience in the industry and substantial investment in machinery and equipment we have been able to keep pace with the original equipment manufacturers and in turn satisfy the needs of our customers accordingly.

At our recently refurbished 12,000 sq.ft premises in the south of Glasgow we now hold an extensive stock of the most up to date and popular transmissions and differentials, including ZF, Volvo, Eaton, Foden, M.A.N., Scania, DAF, Spicer, Ford, Mercedes and Allison, all of which have been remanufactured to the highest standards.

In the unlikely event of not having the required unit ex-stock, our stock of parts is such that it enables us to either build a unit or repair the customers own, usually within 24 hours, and if required, our fitting service is available to customers who do not have either the spare capacity or facilities, all of which saves our customers both valuable time and money.

The company’s success is due entirely to the reputation it has built up over the years for service and reliability and the total commitment by the staff, to giving customer satisfaction – nothing is too much bother!

In part this is due to our in-house training programme, coupled with very stringent stage-by-stage inspection which is carried out by our supervisory staff during all building work.

At present we have our own quality control system but are working towards our ISO 9001 accreditation system which some of our customers have come to expect. In order to fully satisfy the needs of local authorities, fleet owners, coach operators and emergency services, Commercial Transmission Services group of companies include Strathclyde Gearbox Services, which currently services the private/Light commercial side of the business, supplying and fitting hundreds of units annually, and operates within the same exacting standards as Commercial Transmission Services.                    

Our latest addition to the group is A.T. Engineering, Which was established some 20 years ago and is already ISO 9001 accredited company. Again, as with Commercial Transmission Services and Srathclyde Gearbox Services, the role of A.T.Engineering its product base widespread. Considerable investment has been made with regards to the repair and manufacture of propshafts, and to the end, we have in stock at any one time approximately 1000 shafts, plus all relevant components to carry out repairs as required.

In addition to this, A.T. Engineering can supply and repair all makes of automatic and semi-automatic transmission and steering equipment.

Our main objective in developing and investing in our three companies is solely to fulfill completely the requirements of our wide and varied customer base.
